Death...the Door to new life!

There can be no life without death....so it really is a favor when we are crucified...a divine favor...the nails...the pain...the hurt...the rejection.

"Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die...it abideth alone."

Death is always painful...acutely so when inflicted by those we love. But we have to die...we have to let it go...and our Father knows this. He cannot compromise on this one. There are no alternatives...no detour...no plan 'B'. Jesus himself, '...set his face steadfastly toward Jerusalem.'

The Cross

And in the bewilderment and darkness of our time on the cross and decent into surrender - God will meet us and envelope us in His arms and allow us to feel the unsurpassed reality of His presence! And then - He activates the New Life in us and we are resurrected to be what he designed us to be - a new life that brings forth fruit in the proper season!

iMonk 101 - When I am weak...

"Evangelicals love a testimony of how screwed up I USED to be. They aren’t interested in how screwed up I am NOW. But the fact is, that we are screwed up. Then. Now. All the time in between and, it’s a safe bet to assume, the rest of the time we’re alive. But we will pay $400 to go hear a “Bible teacher” tell us how we are only a few verses, prayers and cds away from being a lot better. And we will set quietly, or applaud loudly, when the story is retold. I’m really better now. I’m a good Christian. I’m not a mess anymore. I’m different from other people."

A few thoughts on anger...

The following are excerpts from 'the internet monk's' Blog Post - "What's growing in the shadow of your anger?"

" I think there’s another aspect the anger of man does, it masks and hides other obvious sins, and despite all the “insight” that we claim when we are angry, we’re often the blindest at that moment...

"In playing the part of the “righteous” judge- which is required of the angry person- you must claim the mantle of correct insight...

"When Jesus was angry at the moneychanger in the temple, he was insightful about the truth of the situation and the truth about himself....

"...the difference between us and Jesus is that...(read it for yourself)

Comments:

Just Joe

One additional comment - We have to remember, and it is worthy of noting, that anger is a secondary emotion. We are always angry because… When you find yourself angry, ask God for revelation about the root. There you will find the REAL problem.

Thanks for your post…

Joe

Thinking about this guy's blog post and reading over the comments, it appears that when we are angry may be a low point in our ability to recognize or accept truth.

Which may take us to a street corner we don't want to be.

Dumb Stupid

So, next time before you verbalize your anger, look around at the street signs . You may be in the wrong neighborhood!

I borrowed this from another Blog....

    In the fire

'Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego...' Daniel 3:30

The story of the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace makes us realise four things: 1) Obeying God doesn't exempt you from trouble. Don't expect the world to always understand or appreciate you. Look at Christ: 'In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it' (John 1:4-5 NIV) 2) You're not alone; God is with you in your trouble. When King Nebuchadnezzar looked into the fiery furnace he said, '...I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God' (Daniel 3:25). Instead of destroying them, the fire burned the ropes that bound them and set them free. So be encouraged. It may feel like you're 'bound by circumstances,' limited and locked in, but God is with you; He's going to vindicate you and bring you out of this victorious 3) Your trouble will become your testimony. Others are watching. What they're trusting in doesn't work, and they're wondering if what you're trusting in does. Your faithfulness to God and His intervention on your behalf will touch their lives in ways your theology never will. Everybody in Babylon knew what the three Hebrew children believed, but they wanted to know, 'Does it work when you're in the fire?' It does! 4) On the other side of your trouble, there's great blessing. 'Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.' It's a Scriptural principle: when you are faithful in a hard place, God can trust you in a high place.
